Party rules
As private organizations the Democrat and Republican parties have the right to create rules for their organizations.
However, they do not have the right to tell state legislatures what to do nor penalize the voters of states who follow the laws of the state the reside in.
How can the parties expect the states to pay for conducting their primaries without the states having any say in the timing of what they are paying for?
Only in Nazi Germany and Communist countries did “the party” get to tell the government what to do.
Also, whatever happened to the principle of “one man, one vote”? How can the parties say that votes don’t count or they are worth only half as much as normal?
When a party says my vote doesn’t count because of something beyond my control, they maybe I should pick another party in November!
